I get where you're coming from – but truth be told my issues with new star trek aren't actually that Discovery is too "boom boom boom". If DIS is that, then so is Wrath of Khan, so is TNG The Best of Both Worlds, so is the best parts of DS9.

Then again, maybe you include Star Trek II in "movies". In which case, I respect the consistency.

@ValueSubtracted "Why explain why you burst into song? Just burst into song! So I think that scene possibly would've made a lot of people happy. I'm really glad we took it out! It's only 20 seconds of dialogue, it was nothing. I can't think of anything else that we cut."

Oh for fucks sake. Its literally like he's drunk on power and has stopped giving a shit. This scene would have saved the episode for me. The dance sequence was the ONE part I couldn't get over.

@wizzor @Furbag #StarTrekProdigy writers, you're the ones most likely to deal with talaxians i think, plz canonize "Raddix" as a name

@Trekman10 @astroturds @t0fr (same user here) I did make this account to be dedicated to fandom and #StarTrek in general...

@Anglophyl @daystrominstitute @startrek of course not, this is primarily a star trek account afterall

The amount of #startrek content on my feed has expanded considerably since #lemmy became the new home to @daystrominstitute and @startrek.

@dan I'm holding out hope that they'll do a recast of Kor, Kang, and/or Koloth and show them with flat foreheads, and then have L'Rell show up with the s2 Discovery look.

well, perhaps the Farragut is on the other side of the Federation, and the foreshadowed conflict with the Gorn might play out in some way where they end up not going very far into that region of space?

(Is this the aforementioned mental gymnastics?)

@Dalakaar @ValueSubtracted I'm definitely wondering what the angle is with the Klingons and their look. We even got Discovery footage in the recap

Happened before for sure in Trek with recurring stars

I'm not sure if it contradicts Arena so long as we never have a face-to-face confrontation with adult Gorn.

We know by the 2380s the Gorn are on better terms with the Federation, so it would be cool to somehow flesh out Gorn culture even in SNW.

@GuyGamer234 I love "Future's End" from VOY and "Past Tense" from DS9.
