Heartstopper is my number one. It has this gentle, joyous undercurrent to every element of itself that just checks all my boxes. The soundscape is really quite soothing as well.
Schitt’s Creek is a close second. Don’t be put off by the title as I was - it’s hilarious and takes a lot of care with its characters and storytelling. It’s not an explicitly queer show, but I’m including it here anyway because it centers a pansexual man as one of its core characters and does a fantastic job with his portrayal and storylines.
Also in my rotation:
- Drag Race
- The Owl House
- She-Ra and the Princesses of Power
Genghis Khan by Miike Snow
I'm always impressed by a music video that can "yes, and" the song it was made for - one that feels like it was created as an extension or an exploration of the song, rather than an expression of the vibes (though, don't get me wrong, I'm all about the vibes too). I love that this video tells a clear story and puts a pretty fun twist on the lyrics while it does.
Bonus: The actors seem like they were having a blast during filming.
