Check if your issue is https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/issues/1019
the last few posts to this magazine have all been people saying they can't view posts / comments when logged in but can when logged out (which you might not be able to see of course if it is this issue, as they were all posts and not links). Try removing all blocked domains to see if you can see them again.

Edit: To be clear, this is to fix being able to see the posts after the error, not fixing the error. My current working theory is:

  1. users on kbin.social get an error when posting. the post is made, but with an empty domain field
  2. kbin.social users with any domains blocked, regardless of what they are, will not be able to see the post or comments if they open the post via url

Edit: tl;dr remove all blocked domains to be able to see posts / comments with no domain (like this one)

Oop, that issue specifically is definitely this https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/issues/1019. I posted it in this thread more details but, I imagine you might not be able to see any of my comments in this thread. If you do see this post, definitely check out https://kbin.social/m/kbinMeta/t/361909 (while logged out because you also won't be able to see that thread logged in)

One more question if you wouldn't mind, do you happen to remember if you got an error while posting this thread? Understandable if you don't; one of the newer kbinmeta posts mentioned getting an error while posting and their thread doesn't have a domain, but a different thread they posted afterwards does have a domain, so I'm trying to see if there's a link between getting an error when posting and a post not having a domain

One of our other top CC’s couldn’t see the thread and they’re on kbin.social

This could be this issue https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/issues/1019 which I'm trying to gain visibility on. This thread, as well as some of the others you have posted in SC [1] [2] [3] [4], all do not show a domain. If what I've written in the issue is accurate, that means kbin.social users with any domain blocked at all will not be able to see the posts or comments. Removing all blocked domains will fix it. Right now my findings are basically posts are somehow being made with no domain, and if a user blocks any domain at all, doesn't matter what it is, that will count as true and filter it out. LMK if this helps, trying to gather as much data as I can

Thanks; it at least appears to match the pattern I've just updated the issue with, which is posts with no domain shown in parentheses next to the title get filtered out by any domain block at all, regardless of what it is. I assumed you could only achieve this with text posts but it's good to know it's possible with image posts as well

Do you mind linking me the image thread if you can find it?

Check out https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/issues/1019 to see if it's similar to what other people have posted about recently: tl;dr blocking domains appears to filter out posts / comments even when those domains are not involved in the post. I'll repost what I put in one of the threads:

If posts are disappearing when you're logged in but not when logged out, it should be something like that: either a language filter, federation turned off, or a blocked community you might not expect filtering it out. You can double check by unblocking domains/magazines to see if any of them return comments, though that might be troublesome with many blocked.

I remember seeing a similar post recently and it didn't seem like there was the ability to restrict posting in a magazine to the creator/mods at the moment: https://kbin.social/m/kbinMeta/t/272000/Magazine-only-I-can-post-to

It's possible another fediverse tool would match more what you are aiming for, kbin might not be too far off but it and lemmy definitely seem more about focusing on communities / discussions than people. Definitely check out mastodon / firefish / akkoma

Edit: I do want to say I think kbin could be good for that in the future; RheingoldRiver and others have put in a bunch of good issues about improving how microblogs are displayed / discovered, but I find it still a bit rough to notice microblog posters at the moment

Most people just use this magazine, there's also https://kbin.social/m/Help for more general questions but it's less active. For issues, there's also an issue tracker. This issue in particular has an existing issue https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/issues/163 (and https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/issues/633 )

and don't load when you try to fully display them

I kind of think that last part is super relevant; I notice it mostly on instances that have been having downtimes like lemmy world / blahaj. When I try to load the actual image from the domain itself, it may not load because the instance is down (edit but then it might later on, the ones in OP are loading for me, but I have seen this happen while instances were down too). I'm wondering if kbin is having trouble fetching the thumbnail, times out or something, and then just uses the ~~last~~ (edit based on the below, maybe next) thumbnail it got instead, which is why people have been reporting thumbnails from most recent entries are showing up multiple times

The image in https://kbin.social/m/[email protected]/t/359227/Low-effort-way-of-posting-unique-memes-translate-memes-from appears likely to have come from https://kbin.social/m/[email protected]/p/1437748/Now-playing-HoloCure-Save-the-Fans-A-new-freebie-on-at which was posted 31 seconds later

Edit: This is just a theory of mine, I could be way off as I'm not knowledgeable on kbin, just remarking on my experiences with the thumbnail media cache

If anything makes sense to you, let me know, I didn't want to get too into what was being blocked or wasn't loading, but I imagine it must be some false positive; that is to say, I assume whatever you posted did not include those domains and maybe no users from those instances posted in it. I couldn't figure out why the instance domain filter would trigger in such a case, but I didn't dig too deep into it; I guess I should make an issue but I've been holding off on making issues until 1.0 versioning happens so there's a way to say x bug happens in y version, otherwise it has been difficult so far to discuss issues between people that may be on different git shas
