raytracing in control did make a slight difference as you could see enemies around the corner that rasterized games couldn't render since the object is not in screenspace

also it should allow easier development in the future when every device is capable of it since they won't have to put as many lighting hacks

this tankie narrative seems overblown.

i've created an account the day the api changes was announced and i've never seen any political discussions around communism. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but i've seen far more complaining about tankies than tankies themselves

like reddit, if you avoid all and just subscribe to the communities you're interested in then there's no problem.

Back in the day it was harder, especially supporting IE 11-, but now since there are really only 2-3 rendering engines to develop for it shouldn't be as hard.

we will certainly see it grow but reddit has a huge lead in mindshare and seo.

they can also spend millions in growth. Lemmy will be much more organic and gradual
