You could install Fresh Tomato firmware on any supported router and do this using wireless client mode: https://wiki.freshtomato.org/doku.php/advanced_scenarios

Is this some sort of federation thing taking place behind the scenes?

For example, tried putting @[email protected] in the search box. Nothing happens.

Doing the same thing for communities/magazines on kbin.social and lemmy.world does work though.

Am I doing something wrong? Is programming.dev blocked for some reason? Or is this a problem on their end?

I'm new to the whole fediverse. Thanks in advance.
