@mawhrin @scruiser "The idea here in short is ..." [continues writing response from now until the heat death of the universe]

@mawhrin @dgerard It never ceases to amaze me how anyone can read the word vomit these people fling into the world and think it's good writing.

@sailor_sega_saturn @rook It always annoyed me that the super secret death spot in that Batman episode ended up being in the most blindingly obvious place.

@self @dgerard Am curious if you have specific concerns about Nix or if it's more a general concern based on past experience.

@Architeuthis @tante I often hear it said that the TREACLE crowd is a section of early 2000s Internet atheists that went on to invent their own god, but I don't think it gets pointed out enough how much stupider their belief system is compared to the religions they constantly mock.

@self @froztbyte Another big part of it is the obsession with the "young genius disruptor coder". Which has resulted in management buying into endless fads foisted on us by twenty-somethings, and then inevitably having to undo half the things they implemented 5 years later. Well, except for React, which apparently we can't get rid of but must forever keep reimplementing with whatever new new pattern will actually make it scale for real this time.

@self Oh no, it's the "build" language. This really is web3 all over again, isn't it?

@self The word "gave" is doing a lot of work in that quote.

@Amoeba_Girl @dgerard Sometimes I think there's a goldmine of comedy to be had laughing at these eugenics types having kids and slowly realizing they aren't rich like Musk and Grimes and have to care for these humans. Then I remember that isn't funny at all, it's extremely upsetting.

@sinedpick @self Just referring to your comment (haven't watched the video) I completely agree that there is a view among some crowds that psychedelic experiences have moral and psychological benefits in and of themselves. Which is definitely not the case, and can lead some people to some real bad places.

@dgerard How in the world can anyone read anything like this and get to the end, much less respect the person who wrote it?
