I'm installing a new OS and would like to turn on the killswitch/lockdown mode before connecting to the WiFi so no telemetry is sent outside of the VPN connection.

Just wondering what settings to use to minimize latency as much as possible

I am on linux and this only happens while I am in vc on discord or on teamspeak and doesn't happen if I am not in vc. Whenever I am in vc I get disconnected and reconnected to the vpn every few minutes why?

... also other web sites and services stopped working when on it or latency is whacking out.

It's not that I try to make Telegram safer. I just prefer surfing with the VPN on and have Telegram as a desktop app running on stand by.

Workaround: Proxy Settings -> Disable Proxy

Hey,guys. I have been using Mullvad for some months and I love it. However many sites see that I am on a vpn and either don't load (the rare but existing case) or they ask me for 10 verifications that I am human (which sometimes just hang forever). Can anything be done in the settings? Or is this the price of freedom?

I live and work in Europe but I frequently travel and notice that there are quite a few sites that will block anything coming from a known VPN. One of the biggest issues is our company financial software which is a subscription service not done in-house. If I access it with Mullvad turned on from the train or a coffee shop it blocks it... but if I setup a wireguard tunnel and use that instead... same Mullvad servers just done through the Wireguard app, everything works fine.

Can someone explain how the VPNs communicate client vs wireguard that might be allowing wireguard to bypass filters looking for VPNs?

I've installed the latest Mullvad app apk through Downloader

At the login page it lets me put in my login code but there is no way of moving down to login. Quite infuriating and not prepared to buy a bluetooth mouse just to move down on one app.

Hey, I've been using mullvad for a few months and wondering if it's working properly.

When I secure my network it says everything is good and my ip address changes ect and mullvad website says I'm connected to the vpn. However I open Google Chrome and go to YouTube I'm still logged in, same for all websites like amazon ect so what's the point if they still know my accounts?

I currently have my Mullvad account on five devices but want to format my Windows PC and install a Linux Distro. Will this cause a problem with it being a sixth device or will I be fine? Thank you.

Hello,

I wanted to get your recommendations on VPNs for seeding at home (1Gbps fiber, symmetric).

Setup:

  • qBittorrent docker with gluetun
  • Strictly private trackers
  • No DHT

Tried: Windscribe, Proton

Issues with them (wireguard, port forwarded, closest server-US):

  • Windscribe: down (~50-60 MB/s), but slow seeding (~10 MB/s). Stable, however.
  • Proton:
    • non-p2p server: fast down (~100 MB/s), fast up (50-60 MB/s), but is throttled after 2-3 hours.
    • p2p server:  slow seeding (~10 MB/s).

Requirements:

  • Port forwarding
  • Stable (~minimum 1TB/day uninterrupted upload traffic)
  • Unthrottled/unlimited

I find it quite interesting how this information is pretty hard to find on internet. Thanks, everyone.

PS. Do not reply if it's about "Proton does not throttle"
