100% this. At first I was really salty that Chapel would just bail on Spock as soon as something more interesting came along, @[email protected], describes my initial thoughts exactly. Then I remember how Boimler accidentally crushed her, even going so far as to say that Spock does some important things in the future that rely on him behaving very Vulcan.

Imagine how she felt, finally getting the guy you've been pining over only to find out that the universe really needs you two to not be together. Or at least, not be together in the way you wanted to be. We've even seen her struggling with it in the time since Boims spilled the beans. I can totally see why she feels she needs to move on. I don't agree with her "I'll leave you to get ahead" attitude, but I can understand it.

My favourite line in the whole thing is right at the end when Commander Jack Ransom (played by Jerry O'Connell) walks past the poster of Lieutenant commander Una Chin-Riley (played by Rebecca Romjin) and calls her "The hottest first officer in Starfleet history."

For those who don't know, the Jerry O'Connell and Rebecca Romjin are married to each other.

Many years ago now I tried Artemis. For those that don't know it's a bridge simulator with each station being run on a different computer. We played it at a LAN and did a ship vs ship battle. (In hind sight we should have disabled nukes). It is fun and you really do feel like you're the captain of a star ship.

I have also tried the VR Star Trek Bridge Crew and that was kinda cool but the VR aspect made it feel more alienating compared to physically looking at someone.

I may have the chance next year to run a bridge simulator at a local con' so I've been looking into it again. Holy heck I've gone down the rabbit hole. There are so many options and I'm keen to check them all out. I've even found some amazing LARP's that make use of the bridge simulators.

What's your experience with bridge simulators? (I feel like I've said bridge simulators too many times now).

Same! I was blown away by the number of reviews, and not just Star Trek!

The other thing that blew me away was the number of comments on the article. I guess it makes sense as Trekkies are a dedicated bunch and his website has been around for a long time!

Wow, I've only read the preface so far (I'm at work) but it looks amazing! Very much looks like an official book, and reads like a real reflection from after the Borg attack. I am very much looking forward to sitting down and reading this.

I like this idea. And the fact that it is optional is a big plus. I know a fellow has already made a nice CSS LCARS theme at https://www.thelcars.com. I think as long as this website stays a community thing and doesn't turn into a for-profit thing then we should be fine according to the license. I don't know how much work it would require to do implement.
