According to California law it's literally rape. So you're quibbling over fine line definitions for no reason. In addition, the woman would not have had sex with him if not for his position and authority. The fact that she didn't scream and complain is irrelevant. It's the same as if a woman doesn't fight off an aggressor because shes afraid of more or worse violence. The lack of physical resistance is not consent.

Yes you get due process, with a bias towards believing the system. People can often spend months in jail before the process progresses to the point where the charges get dropped. So yes a police officer doesn't have the power to put you in custody for your whole life, but they do have the power to put you at the mercy of a flawed system where you are rolling the dice with your future.

So just to clarify, if a police officer has someone arrested and says "perform sexual favors or I'll make your punishment more severe potentially affecting you life and livelihood" that to you is the same as a bribe?

This hit way too hard. I find it so hard to just enjoy my hobbies because I feel like I'm breaking the rules.

There was an episode of one of those crime shows that revolved around a site like this. Except it was the rapture not individuals dying. Iirc if the owner of the page didn't check in for 24 hrs it sent all the emails. He got murdered all the emails got sent out and one of them was a murder confession. Weird episode, I wish I could remember which show it was. Feels like a CSI episode

**Did some googling. Law and Order - 'Rapture'

Everytime I see this graph I focus on the fact that 1 second and 10 months are the same color, but 1 sec and "instant" are different colors.

Like I guess if "instant" is a billionth of a second than it's a greater difference of magnitudes. However, in reality a second feels like an instant.

No and no. It took society a long time to do this damage, I have faith that humanity is capable of fixing it. But it won't be fixed by you personally giving up straws, switching to canvas shopping bags, or riding a bike. That mind set was pushed by the fossil fuel companies to get people to blame individual behavior on societal failings. The solution is political. Voting is and organizing are the best individual behaviors to get results

Right? She's weird and skiddish, but she's such a sweet heart who's just happy to have a home.

Omg, our new kitten always has this expression. She's a rescue and has a few quirks. She never looks comfortable or happy. But she loves to get pets and scratches despite looking quite upset.

NGL I tried to figure out what joke you were making for several minutes. Then I finally looked at the second "CEO" my brain skimmed past it like 5 times

100% what I do. Print to pdf and then never go to the site, because they're so over loaded with ads and pictures that will load and cause the page to bounce around.

I think cheap in this case means inexpensive not poor quality. Hence they're asking the government to tax it to deter excessive use. Also it said it increased in the last decade. What do the 1900s have to do with anything?
