I saw it on the smartphone of the person next to me on the train, and even though they were right next to me I could not make out what was on their screen until they turned it to demonstrate the screen protector.
That is when you either get some help (Youtube), or commit a grave sin and pour what is left into a bowl.
There is also the risk that (like me) you will get crippling nausea after a few minutes in the headset... On the plus side the graphics I saw were not nearly convincing enough to induce the kind of response illustrated in the post.
The original artist blames it on their attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, that is probably a good place to start.
