If the Go ever received a SUPERHOT VR or another killer app, I think it could have done pretty okay. In essence, it was the Samsung Gear VR adaptor if they made a whole standalone device out of it.
I still flick it on every 6 months or so for a go at Quake GVR. For a 3DOF headset with one controller, it works pretty damn well. Full movement and everything.
