I agree. This technology doesn't exist in a vacuum. This isn't some utopia where a Human artist can just solely focus on creating their art and not worry about financial gain because their survival needs are always guaranteed to be met or whatever.

Always a nice one to rediscover and it's a quick read too!

I am two thirds of the way through Earth Abides by George R. Stewart. It being published in 1949, there are some dated ideas and problematic sections but overall, it is an enjoyable read with interesting concepts and plot.
