This doesn’t matter to them and you’ll be browbeaten and talked down to regardless. Every vote counts and they want to be able to hold that meaningless popular vote up as proof that their choice was actually just cheated out of victory by the dastardly Electoral College.

I remember how smug libs were when they were dangling that $2,000 carrot over everyone’s heads in 2020, saying things like “at least we know Biden won’t be vain enough to hold up the process just so the IRS can put his name on the check.”

Then we were shorted $600 (or more, if the clattering neoliberal machine deemed you unworthy of additional help during a pandemic) and that check came with an additional piece of paper with a long winded thing about where this money came from, concluding with “this [$1,400] fulfills a promise I made to you.” So on top of getting fleeced by these slimeballs and gaslit about how “600+1400=2000,” those of us who received our crumbs were treated to a full page ad where Biden congratulates himself for a job mediocrely done. I remember thinking, “surely this was an unnecessary waste of time and ink, and likely delayed the distribution of the checks” but of course because it wasn’t done by a cheeto-man it was fine, and there’s probably an obscure rule that required it so he’s just showing us how a real president is supposed to act, or something biden-troll.

I have a turbolib friend that was needlessly combative with me when I brought up Joe’s long history of scumbaggery prior to even getting the nomination. I’ve been practicing for this year’s inevitable arguments, but I feel a lot more secure articulating my positions now that I’ve fully broken out of the lib cage.

Stopped reading at "Communist Russia." Who do I vote for in order to get that?

Man, that thread cringe. I’ve been dinged for the same reason but only caught a temporary ban, but it was enough to leave reddit-logo for good, and I’m better off because of it. Why would I stick around a site that bans me for reporting blatantly racist and/or murderous comments?

On a related note, I see so many “these dumb terrorist-sympathizing kids only heard about Palestine from TikTok” comments in there. Where did this piss-tier talking point come from? My father used it in an argument recently and I know he has no clue what TikTok is, so my presumption was that it originated on Fox, but I’ve seen plenty of libs using the same line. Is it just today’s version of “the kids don’t know anything because their minds are rotten from watching too much dang TV?” Where do these clowns think their blind defense of Israel came from anyway?

maybe-later-kiddo No. What you tankies don't ever say (probably because you're working for Putin) is that Biden and Pete worked quietly behind the scenes to get the unions what they wanted but without ruining Christmas with their mean-spirited strike designed to hurt Democrats in the midterms.

… is usually the first reply to that point and it's like nails on a chalkboard. Digging a little deeper into it reveals that this was not the case shocked-pikachu.

Everyone went back to brunch once the IBEW—a union that represents ~5% of the industry and doesn't even represent the train crews whose rank-and-file were intent on striking—did a press release praising Biden for a measly 4 sick days (that were watered down from the 14 the unions were initially striking for or the 7 in the PEB-sponsored agreement) and didn't address the insane precision rail scheduling and draconian attendance policies imposed by the freight carriers, nor is the new policy universal across all unions. It infuriates me to no end that the gaslighting operation was once again successful, just like with Covid/Covid checks and the infrastructure bill switcharoo. People believe that these things were well-managed by Brandon and the Dems and it drives me nuts. Like, these motherfuckers stripped workers of one of the central tools they have to fight for better conditions without breaking a sweat, then stuck them with a joke of a deal and proceeded to pat themselves on the back (amidst a catastrophic rail disaster, no less!). It's truly a sickening country.

Lmao this is awesome. Extremely critical support to the House GOP and Tuberville in the Senate for doing their parts to hamstring the US war machine thanks to their stunning incompetence and/or stubborn contrarianism.
