You guys have courses for that? I just set CONFIG_PREEMPT_RT=Y and go about my day.

You're right, but I feel like even without the hyperloop, the government (or other rich fucks) would find some way to avoid building a train line. Trying and failing to build a hyperloop was just a convenient excuse.

Pretty sure they mean that most people won't have any use for an FPGA outside of this niche context, whereas just using software emulation on a general-purpose computer means you don't need a specialized gadget that can't really be repurposed when you get bored or whatever (whereas a general-purpose computer could be).

Well since Hawaii is controlled by the US, they can't ask for help from other countries, and the US won't ask for help from other countries either.

I can't say for certain if Hawaii would seek help from others if it was independent, but I feel like it's a pretty good guess.
