I also have a 1200GS with Jesse Bags. They don't look great but they're tough.

I share my location with my wife. I can see what time she'll be home when she's leaving work. She gets to see which ditch I crashed my motorcycle into.

I own basically the cheapest mechanical chronograph watch in existence and I love it. For 250 bucks you can get a "Seagull 1963" watch from China on Amazon.

It's actually a really nice looking watch with a glass case back so you can see all the gears in the movement. It was designed by the Swiss company Venus a long time ago and they sold it to a Chinese company at some point where it got copied by a bunch of other Chinese companies.

You might find it under a different brand name. Mine is the "Seakoss" variant. They come in a bunch of different styles and sizes so pick whichever you prefer.

Sure maybe it's not great to be supporting China but so much stuff we buy comes from China anyway so I don't think about it too much.

I wanted a mechanical watch so I could admire the gears but I wasn't about to drop many thousands of dollars on one so this thing fits the bill.

I worked for the US division of a German company and found that the culture even for the US workers was very respectful of time off and appropriate working hours. I hated the job because I was customer facing and our customers were typically large US companies, but the German company was a great company to work for.

Afraid.org is what I've been using ever since dyndns started charging big prices for what used to be free.

It's not my style but if you enjoy it that's all that matters!

Right? This just sounds like sailing with extra steps.

Even with a subscription cost for the API, users still won't be getting any NSFW posts. That includes porn obviously but there was also tons of non-porn NSFW content in subs like /r/drugs, /r/sex, etc.

I want to hear a story about how mankind threw the undertaker 30 feet onto an announcer's table.

I don't want to block the entire instance. I still want all the real porn, just not the cartoon/AI stuff.

I've been trying to block all the Hentai, cartoon, and AI porn communities on LemmyNSFW but other than that it's pretty great! If you turn on the auto-expand images setting it makes for easy left-hand browsing.

I run a plex server because I don't want to subscribe to 15 different services with 15 different shitty UIs just to watch TV. FF and rewind always works the same on Plex and the pause button is always in the same spot.

Every time I open Netflix or Hulu or Prime I am infuriated that it doesn't immediately take me to the last show I was watching.

Also I like to watch shows as they originally aired, not with missing episodes that Hulu pulled to keep advertisers happy (It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia and Community come to mind).

I'm using my wife's Nintendo Switch Pro controller and I'm gonna lay in bed all day playing games.

I've always used traditional hiking boots but I have sweaty feet, messed up toenails, and arthritis from gout. Stiff hiking boots were aggravating all of these issues so I recently switched to trail running shoes. I had avoided low cut shoes/boots because I hate getting rocks and debris in my shoes and needing to stop to take my footwear off to clean them out only for it to happen again 20 minutes later. I found an awesome set of gaiters at REI that keep debris from getting into my shoes and now I can hike in shorts which is way better than long pants. The traction and comfort of the Speedcross 6 shoes is incredible and I don't think I'll ever go back to bulky hiking boots. They're running shoes but they seem to work just as well for hiking and I've been on two hikes in Alaska without much pain in my feet. They ventilate well so my feet aren't soaked with sweat and I don't get blisters. Highly recommend trying a pair. I'm not sure if they will last very long but I'm happy to keep spending the money if they keep my feet in good shape.
