I've been using Fedora Kinoite and I love it. I wanted the same use case you wanted. Pretty much something that gets out of the way and keeps on working.

Too be fair, I was mostly inspired to use it because of the Steam Deck. Kinoite is an immutable OS, so it will prevent you from modifying core system files accidentally. It does have a small learning curve, such as learning flatpak permissions and using Distrobox/Toolbox to install cli applications, but I mostly use my computers as a gaming station where I chuck steam, a browser, and a few other tools in there and leave most things as default.

I always feel like my OS is "clean" despite having used it for a year, which is really cool. I'm curious what others might think of it as an easy distro though (it is for me, at least)

Tastes like default

I've been absolutely slamming Persona 5 Royal. I've ran into a couple odd hard freezes with the game, but I'm about 60 hours in at this point so it clearly hasn't stopped me.

Would absolutely recommend!

Got some heavy hail too, it was absolutely crazy!

It seems I've lost Spectrum too, which is unfortunate...

Yeah, this is specifically on sh.itjust.works for those viewing this thread elsewhere, but I'm sure other instances are struggling too. I'm not even seeing 500s, just a generic Firefox "Cannot complete request" on mobile and connection resets on Jerboa.

Edit: ah, yep, here come the 500s mixed in there as well.

I use Fedora Kinoite for my non-nvidia laptop, and uBlue's nvidia Kinoite image for my desktop. I switched after I got my Steam Deck and found I just really liked the idea of an immutable OS with KDE.

I guess that also means I use SteamOS 3 too!
