I've been using Linux on my laptop and work/school computers for a while now, but what made me switch my desktop to Linux was emulator performance. Then I saw the progress Proton had achieved and news of MS putting ads everywhere and I doubled down wiping the windows partition for more disk space.

Have you tried launching it from a terminal to get more logs about what is going on?

Had something similar happen to me a couple of days ago setting up a new desktop, micro freeze and an input being repeated. Turned out the ram was a little bit over the stable clock. Reverted the typo on memory clock and all's fine now. Don't know if you control that in you laptop tho
Something weird that happens to me is that when I scroll past the first page of results it shows a bunch of "local" results that be nothing to do with my search, like hotels and restaurants when I'm doing some troubleshooting. Is that some sort of ad serving from Bing?
