I’m from the OC originally and I fucking hate it. Honestly it sucks that there are communities of decent people trapped in that hellhole.

Pizza Hut, like most corpo stuff, got completely gutted in the pursuit of some short term gains. It’s almost funny watching it happen from afar, until you start working for a corp yourself that gets a new ceo and starts trading in every bit of love for the brand by shitting it up so they can get a quick stock push. It’s fucking insanity working at the lowest levels seeing it all crumble.

I fully realized healthcare was bullshit when I was charged 100$ to visit a random gp (I guess my healthcare was shit) to tell me I have an issue with my face and to just slather it with some steroidal cream. No extra help, had to figure out how to mitigate the actual underlying problem myself. Must’ve taken him 10 minutes.

When I visited Cambodia a nice lady working the pharmacy just handed me some steroidal cream (mind you, probably too strong a cream), cost me a couple bucks. Bought 10 more on my way out of the country. I still don’t know why I can’t just talk to a pharmacist for a second and just buy it without all of this insane rigamarol.

Well if hexbear is still around it would be cool if the community got together and helped save up some kind of strike fund for our poorer peeps here. At the very least coming into 2028, if this is still a confirmed thing, I’ll be agitating and saving up for sure.

I didn’t divest myself of my weeb side until I was an adult and I can say from personal experience that weebs don’t know shit about Japan or Japanese history. I remember learning about imperial Japan, Japanese warcrimes, and the current issues Japan has with xenophobia/racism and bringing up some of this to a weeb who studied abroad for a year and they were so resistant to it. I wasn’t even that harsh, I just assumed if you spent a year there a lot of the japanophile shine of Japan would fade.

It’s more sad because even a cursory glance of reading people’s experiences in Japan, especially migrants from non-western countries, makes it crystal clear.
