The City of Prince George has previously experimented with bear-resistant garbage cans but has since abandoned the efforts, due to the cost involved and their lack of compatibility with the existing collection system.

The flower, also known as bog bird's-foot trefoil, is an endangered species under Canada’s species at risk act with its national population exclusively located in the Nanaimo area.

While Belcarra is close to two 'Bear Smart' communities, Port Moody and Coquitlam, Hodgins said RCMP are using this incident as a reminder for everyone sharing spaces with wildlife to do their part to prevent human-bear conflicts by securing attractants, such as garbage, and securing homes and vehicles.

Eby said Friday at an unrelated news conference that it's "extremely bizarre" that Weaver might favour Rustad, who says climate change isn't a crisis and was turfed from the former B.C. Liberals, now known as B.C. United, for his views on the subject.

On his party's website, Rustad says the "changing climate is real, and man is impacting our climate," but it "isn't a crisis," and the party will not engage in "over-taxation, hype, scare tactics" on the issue. He has also said he would prohibit teaching climate science in classrooms.

B.C. United Leader Kevin Falcon said on CKNW this morning he considers Sturko's defection a "personal betrayal."

B.C. United spokesperson Adam Wilson said in a statement: "Elenore's decision to run for a party that is so out of line with her values and priorities in a new riding is shocking, and shows she cares more about her pension than her principles."

On the weekend, NDP MLA Mable Elmore shared a social media post from Paul Ratchford, the B.C. Conservative candidate for Vancouver Point Grey, in which he called Sturko a "woke, lesbian, social justice warrior."

Anyone remember when the SoCreds realized that they were going to get their asses handed to them so they all ran and joined the BCLibs?

How long before we see most of the BCUPs run and join the BCCP?
