I'm feeling this.

I haven't, but perhaps I should head over there...

It absolutely is. 🙂

Between that and my Griever tattoo, I guess I'm a bit of a fanboy.

I agree with OP and the general consensus of the comments here.

This may sound corny, but all I really wanted to add to this thread is...thank you. Thank all of you for being so kind. So human.

I really hope the positivity of this platform continues on, as it's truly been a bright spot slipping through the dark clouds of the internet.

Rock on, Beehaw. Rock. On.

Shout out to Tiny Toons Cartoon Workshop for the NES (of all places).

Rented it and a NES from Blockbuster for my birthday when I was a kid. Blew my mind that I could make my own short cartoon pixel animations to show my family on the tv. (This was before I had experienced stuff like Mario Paint.)

This might be controversial but I'd like to change up the aesthetic in the next game. Don't get me wrong, the Ghibli style in BOTW/TOTK has its charm and fits the game and world it was chosen for, but I'd kill to get Twilight Princess's artstyle and character design back.

Everything just had an ornate but grounded vibe that felt more tied to reality. Clothing had stiches and imprinted emblems and texture. Leathers felt thick and sturdy. Link had visible straps attaching his bracers to his forearms and his sheath to his back. And for the first time ever: chainmail.

Shame it was ever only utilized for one game. (Okay, sure, "Link's Crossbow Training," too, but c'mon...)

Ah, a fellow FFVIII lover. Forever my personal favorite in the series (as my user name probably implies).

As others have already touched upon, I think the Zelda series is masterful (pun semi-intended) at this.

I can't count how many times I've replayed through Ocarina of Time just to relax and vibe. These games really excel at creating little moments of catharsis.

I used to spend hours in OOT just hanging around Kakariko or Lon Lon Ranch or soaking in the ambiance of the Forest Temple.

Or hanging outside the Stock Pot Inn in the morning, waiting for it to open in Majora's Mask.

Or floating around on the Great Sea in Wind Waker.

Or taking Marin down to the beach in Link's Awakening.

And so on, up through the BotW/TotK era.
