The anime it's not finished yet. The last episode will air today. I read the manga since it began publishing so I pretty much knew what's going to happen, but it was nice to watch animated.
The thing with Ai, is that I think she's pretty annoying and fake as an idol (this is intentional, I think) but I absolutely respect her as a person and as a mother.
Abortion isn't exactly taboo in Japan (heck, several hundred years ago it was common practice to yeet babies as soon as they were born if the family thought they wouldn't be able to care for it) so she 100% could have done it if she wanted. But she really wanted to give a chance to these kids to have a normal life, even if she was a busy showbiz woman, something that she couldn't have.
I would have to say some spoilers if I wanted to keep going but yeah. I recommend reading the manga.
