There is legislation in this case. Food safety, including disclosure of allergens. It just needs to be applied; that's the bit I can't fathom, why hasn't it?

This is my thoughts as well, much healthier than any other approach. Same approah for things like game remakes and Disney live action remakes.
I have a special place in my heart for 2e. Baldurs Gate introduced me to DnD and the first campaign I ran was 2nd. 15 years later and we're pretty much the same group, just on 5th now.
Might be worth discussing turn timers at session 0, see how they feel about it and make it clear it's a big group and this is something you all need to consider.
I would interpret as an expectation that if you're selling things then it's ok of your an engaged member of the community. It's not a market place where you call out to potential buyers and ask if they want to see your stuff, it's a pub where you chat to the regulars and occasionally sell them stuff. I think the other comment about having a dedicated creator space for this sort of thing would be a good move.
