I'm not a big fan of monolithic cloud ecosystems myself. However, to be fair, it's like lambasting someone for being late to work because a deranged trucker blocked the only road they can take to work.

I used these extensively while working at an MSP a few years back. Didn't like them then, definately won't touch them now.

My understanding is that most Barracuda products use a custom Linux distro. I'm not buying their claim that it was a zero-day.
