AV is a dead product

That is my thinking, too.

Of course.

This particular species does sting, so I would argue it is dangerous. But its mechanism is super interesting: it eats the stinging cells from jellyfish, absorbs them into its own body, and uses them to sting others the same way. Some even release acid. Incredible!

What? No one is comparing them. The question was asked, are they dangerous? OP mused that they have no natural weapons, or danger per se, but instead borrow the jellyfish’s defense. So they are painful in their defense. Likely not aggressive.

“Despite the unsavory or toxic taste they can present to their non-human predators, most nudibranchs are harmless to humans, except those like Glaucus atlanticus which consumes nematocytes and so may consider you a predator and sting”

Agreed. For me, the only “magic” Star Trek needed was stories about relationships that took their time unfolding, with competency. There occasionally were unexplained encounters, but the focus was always on something that could be solvable when the crew worked together. There was resolution. Plus, I really liked the episodic structure of TNG and DS9, where I could get onboard with any episode almost. Within the self contained episodes there could be “twists of fate” that exist today. No more giant fantastic leaps than we already make by believing everything is in the future with their tech.

The “new” trek is too focused on being cinematic. Discovery was interesting at the beginning but it was overly precious and predictable, and overly representative. Designed to keep people hooked. I think the quality suffered greatly. I think representation is super important, having characters with diverse identities, but doing it for diversity’s sake isn’t the way. If we’re really in the future, then people just are.

Thank you! Did you consider the Davis Vantage Vue at all?

As someone just considering this, what model? What kind would you recommend?

What a nice interview. I love the inside baseball on the craft, but also the people. It’s wonderful when the players are behind the message and also live that way. Not just selling a fantasy. Robin is so vulnerable. It’s nice to see her “humanity”, and Leonard’s, which made her a great Vulcan. 40 years really goes by.

This is a very stupid sentiment. Are you familiar with Iran?

I know you’re joking but I really thought this, even though average life for men is 74 or so. He had a fiancée too. They didn’t get to marriage. Was sudden to his colleagues. And no cause given. It just… sucks. I wish for comfort for his family.

I wish this comment need not have happened in my time.

“So do I”, said Gandalf
