I tried to join the lemmy instance some weeks ago but the registration was likely not approved, even though I remember I did everything right.

The same address is down now, not sure if it's blocked by my ISP or something.

So I'm wondering, is there a FMHY community to discuss media piracy resources, subreddit or a forum?

It got taken down by the government of Mali

Yeah, it went down. A bunch of .ml domains got revoked by the government of Mali (which is the official authority on .ml domains), including theirs. Some of their resources are back on FMHY.net, and their Lemmy will be back eventually on lemmy.FMHY.net.

Not to nitpick, but it wasn't exactly taken down, they've contracted out their TLD to Freenom and that contract has recently ended.

what the heck I was kinda out of the loop. Hopefully they create another instance, since one can't post anything in the subreddit

For now you're already posting on the best Lemmy instance for that sort of discussion (https://lemmy.dbzer0.com).

Search around, there's been a bunch of discussion re: FMHY and their instance being down e.g. https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/1091528

Their website is still up (https://fmhy.net/) & they're working on bringing their instance back up. I think the tricky part is whether they can still keep their old posts/comments/user accounts and re-federate with a new domain, I'm not so sure if that's actually possible. Personally I think the old .ml instance is new enough that if they need to re-start from scratch on a new domain then may as well go for it.

Also see the comments in the other post, they do seem to have announcements about this at https://very.bignutty.xyz/@FMHY

I couldn't join the instance, I think because they didn't approve it, or is it that hard to join or have I done something wrong?

Its a private instance. You can subscribe and comment on it from any Mastodon or Calckey instance though.

I'm kinda not well informed about recent websites and app, can you please explain to me (how to join the lemmy instance of FMHY, at the least the one that shut down recently)

Currently the FMHY lemmy instance is down, they will likely create a new one at lemmy.fmhy.net in the coming days. You can create an account on any Mastodon instance (for example, mastodon.social), search for the user @[email protected], and follow them for updates on when it will be up and how to register.
