Humans have been aiding and looking after each other way longer than we've been exchanging fake tokens for labor.

Born too late to hear anything more than echoes and escapist fantasy of mutual aid.
Born too early to have any chance of the resulting problems being fixed, or even the chance to be a technology test subject (cryo and/or brain-in-a-jar... without involving a techbro) for some hope of escape.
Born just in time to eat frozen burritos and waste away alone in

our society might not be based around mutual aid but that does not mean that mutual aid can not exist in it. you can join ur local mutual aid groups or start something yourself if nothing exists in your area yet.
life can be very draining and it is fair to not have the energy to act but that does not mean that nothing is happening
I'm in semi-rural USA (no car, local trail closed), shut-in, health issues, etc. And it should be obvious I am speaking from my perspective, as not everybody is eating frozen burritos (I assume).
Also some of the despair is lacking viable options to move elsewhere. Both on a local level due to lack of money and on a larger level lacking skills/transportation (or money again) etc.
Sure this is not universal, but I feel pretty locked in where I'm at aside from the next step down of being homeless.
There's nothing inherently wrong with money, and any pre-scarcity economic system will need some kind of token or allowance to prevent overconsumption of resources :)
The lie that capitalism tells us is that the only reason anyone should ever want to use their money is to better themselves :)
Money is information about how a group of people wish to allocate resources (material and labor). Capitalism casts money as a resource of its own, which is also a lie.
Bingo! Money is a unit of measurement, but it's the only unit of measurement that we can buy. We can buy a kilogram of potatoes or a meter of cloth, but it would be ridiculous to just buy a kilogram or just a meter. And yet, I can promise you $120 Monday if you give me $100 today, which means I can buy a dollar.
Never thought I'd see Kabuki Klash in here! Ah, so many things have changed since I played... I still suck at fighting games though. Fuck the golden monkey.
Such a great game, but I really suck at fighting games, too
