I was generous and built them a barn so they could sleep indoors but I noticed most of them never go through doors (probably cuz they're too big or I need stairs at the foundation) and just sleep outside on the ground. They're not gonna get pissed after a while are they?

I have had larger pals get upset when unable to sleep at night because there was no accessible bed. Oddly enough though, if I slept through the night it wouldn't happen. I think because there was enough "nighttime" for them to get upset. Of course ymmv but might be worth throwing one or two outside to be safe!

Sounds like the effects of not having a bed are only applied when the pal tries to go to sleep but can't, with time-skip sleeping being just a simple check of [if there are as many beds as there are pals, all pals sleep].

I've seen mine pass out in front of machines and be totally fine

I always recommend sleeping with your pals

How many Loveander do you have and why is there only one in your breeding pen?

Either make the pal barn two stories tall or just leave them outside. We put ours on the roof at one of our bases.

Honestly safer to leave them outside because it's less likely to be destroyed...

I tried observing it once, but I don't remember what I saw. It didn't seem to be an issue so I ignored it, but I rarely encounter path-finding issues these days.

That being said, they can't function through a closed door so do your pals a favor by removing it in favour of an alternative.

You can maintain an entry-way aesthetic on your barn by...

  1. Building 3 high
  2. Attach roofing
  3. Destroy walls where and how you'd like your opening

Between this and ensuring adequate spacing between beds (e.g,Merchants struggle to navigate through tight bed spacing), your pals should be able to navigate perfectly fine. :)

I think you just need to have a bed, as long as you have the right number of beds it's ok, they're just happy they could sleep in a bed.

I'm gonna try a theory in my second base where I put them in a room they can't access at all.
