Morning all. How are we doing?

After returning from holiday on Friday we spent yesterday indoors. Lots of washing, lots of TV and a fair bit of face painting. Today? Well it's a Sunday so naturally I've got a kids party to attend. Can't wait for that. I think I've just hit double digits for the year.

What about you? How are you feeling? Got any plans? Lets talk!

Morning.

The one thing I really don't miss since the kids grew up is the stream of parties. Like they are never ending. So I feel for you there.

My daughter, now 20 and still living at home, is likely nursing a hangover today so I do what any good father does in that situation, I am off to see my parents. My dad had a stroke a few months back so Sundays have really become a day for me to pay back the years by helping out around the house, garden, etc.

And while this can mean doing anything, I would still rather that than a kids party ๐Ÿฅณ

It's my daughter's birthday tomorrow, so I'm making her a cheesecake today. Of course, being a dad it's not going to be straightforward but rather using a gadget (instant pot) to make it: https://www.pressurecookrecipes.com/instant-pot-cheesecake-new-york/

And yes, I don't miss those kids parties. I have 3 kids and thankfully they are all beyond that stage now!

How did it go?

It's my eldests boy's birthday tomorrow, he's 14 but unfortunately, I'm away at work but I'll be home on Wednesday and make it up to him. Probably a large KFC meal!

I'll be glad when this shift is over as I'm off work for five weeks, so I'll be at home almost the entire summer holidays. Not sure what we're going to do with all that time as the youngest lives in psvr! As he's autistic, it's hard to get him off and out of the house. Although we have book one nights away campaigning which he does like doing.

I've just had a week off and as much as I know I don't mean this (and waking up at 4:30 on Tuesday morning is going to suck....) Im almost looking forward to going back to work.

I like work because I'm away from home and it gives me personal time to do what I want. It's a bit selfish but it's when I'm most productive too.
