this actress was so visceral in her performance as to emotionally scar multiple generations of humans.
if thats not successful acting, i dont know what is
/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!
Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.
Fun will now commence.

She triggers me every single time she shows up on rewatches.
Louise Fletcher from all accounts was a lovely human. But man she plays bitch wonderfully
In. Everything. She. Ever. Did.
One flew over the cuckoo nest
Flowers in the Attic
Ds9 — here’s the thing— IMDB only lists her as being in 14 !!!! Episodes.
She's only in 14 fucking episodes??
Ikr. I couldn’t believe that. I had to go and double check.
But yeah. What an amazing presence
But will you ever forget her?
Flowers in the Attic
Now there's some fucked up memories. Side note: never eat unbaked almonds.
She put on a masterclass of making the audience uncomfortable in every single scene she was in, incredible
I get irrationally angry whenever I see her. What we really needed was for Garak to teach her a lesson in humility.
Garak knew that he might have to assassinate her someday. It would make his innocence much more plausible if it was clear they'd never had any interaction with one another. Besides...
"Would a simple tailor assassinate a Kai?! Oh come now constable, I've never even talked to her. Oh, I'd see her from time to time crossing the promenade, but if that were the only thing that would qualify me as an assassin, then you should lock me to protect the life of a quarter of Starfleet's finest officers, not to mention entire Bajoran delegations, Klingon High Council members, and the Grand Nagas while you're at it. Now really constable, I respect your authority on this station and wish you luck in your search for an assassin, but I have a customer that needs an urgent hem for a dinner party tonight."
Pauses for a moment and looks Odo up and down
"If you'd like me to take look at your uniform, I could fix that hem too"
as Odo looks at his feet Garak disappears
Huh, I never thought about that. I don't think Garak ever had a single interaction with her, kinda like Korbin and Zorg in The Fifth Element.
Didn't Korbin see Zorg (or Zorg see Korbin) crossing the end of a hallway on the Fhloston paradise ship as it was falling apart in the third act?
Not quite. Corbin and crew enter an elevator on the right, where after Zorg exits the left completely missing each other.
Thank you for that. I knew it was fleeting, I had forgotten they JUUUUST missed each other.
Probably the only time they were on set together.
Somewhere must exist some Beta canon story where they've read each others reports, make a concerned effort not to cross paths, but still snoop.
I get irrationally angry at her too but then I remember her goofy ass at the end screaming nonsense at the space demons hoping she's going to get superpowers or whatever.
Yep. There are few characters I hate more. Brilliant actress.
She's been traumatizing generations upon generations, mentioning nurse Ratchet to boomers and order and they will react in a similar way to us being asked about Kai Winn.
Edit: she deserves as many awards as she can handle for her acting skills.
It's easy to play a villain, it's not easy to play a person so utterly detestable and vile that the simple thought of her causes a physical reaction.
I can never hear the words "my child" and not think of her.
Kai Opaka, because she's still alive on that planet where no one can die, should still be only Kai.
I wish they would have gone back and done a follow up episode on this.
"Kai Opaka, its great to see you again! Your successor decided to betray the profits, join up with Gul Dukat and worship the Pah-wraiths. So we need a new Kai again. Any chance you'd be willing to work remote and we just give you a communications terminal here on this planet and you can phone in your wisdom from the prophets?"
Garak's alignment is:
Chaotic-Whatever Makes For A Better Story 5 Years Later
Garak would never tell a story that is actually true. Spin to win, always
There he is!
He would've been a grey circle with a dot that is rainbow colored
Show of hands, who thinks this bitch was worse than Umbridge in Harry Potter?
Oh absolutely! (The character, not the actor)
I wouldn't call her a Karen. She doesn't want to talk to the manager, she wants to be the manager.
I hated that crazy bitch so much, I had a block on her even existing.
Did anyone else laugh when she died? I laughed when she died.
