I just have one question
Why?
It works fine in the browser, so I wonder what an app would achieve.
Additional data tracking opportunities?
On the web you have to log back in every damn time, for one.
why not?
Because it's a Chat with a bot, what functionality does it need that a web app can't provide?
Initially, I'm guessing it wouldn't matter, but over time I can see them adding features like being able to share text via the share menu or long-press context menu, so that would be handy. Maybe far down the line it could even act as a digital assistant, so you could maybe map it to the assistant trigger button and provide voice input and get voice replies. Of course, it's all just wishful thinking, in all likelyhood it'll remain a glorified web wrapper.
The greatest likelihood is these services will be integrated into the assistance.
Google Siri Alexa Cortana
Meh. It's fine in the browser. Wonder what they'll do better than that
Require a bunch of permissions so they can get more of your data.
Not having to login constantly would he nice.
the iOS app experience is clean, itβs still less functional than desktop but I feel like thatβs expected.
Is it an official app?
yes
I don't care because I've installed poe.com app for weeks. Check out "Poe - Fast AI Chat" - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.poe.android
It doesn't allow you to use your own OpenAI account, so you're only limited to 1 GPT-4 query per day.
That's at most a demo
Is this the one from Quora? What version of GPT is this based on?
V3.5 and 4. 4 is limited to 1 question per day though.
Poe doesn't support plugins or code interpreter though :(.
ngl, cringe.
Okay
