Hollywood strikes are gonna be pretty pointless in the future

Did you watch the video they made? It’s pretty terrible.

I watched it and it's intriguing. The characters have similar roles to the real show and speak in similar ways. The problem is that the "writer" has no point of view and therefore the satire was completely missing.

As a tech showcase it was pretty cool to see, but the performances were very bland. Characters had the same tone of voice, but were missing the mannerisms and subtleties of the actual voice actors…

They used the wrong voices a lot of the time. I think the AI picked up on the voice actor doing multiple roles and slapped the same characters voice on each character.

For a proof of concept though (which it is) it's really not that bad! Imagine where this is in a couple of years.

Meeeeeh, we’ll see how well bland regurgitated writing catches on as corporate shills inevitably try to push out creative talent over the years…

Even if this was perfect, if they tried to push out Matt and Trey in favor of AI, Matt and Trey could just start their own spin-off project and probably bring most of the fanbase with them.

Actually, maybe this would be awesome. I'd love to see people abandon corporate TV in favor of small independent projects spearheaded by the former writers of corporate programs.

But... its cheap. Very cheap

Yep. AI won't actually replace writers any time soon. At least not completely. But Hollywood excecs sure as hell want everyone to believe they can so they can destroy unions in the industry and replace writers with "AI prompters" that basically still do all of the work, but have to use AI in some way and make a fraction of what writers used to make.

Eh, considering all this AI stuff just really became available in the past year or so it's fairly impressive I think.

I wouldn't be surprised if it could make quality content in less than five years.

It didn’t become available in the last year. Developers have been working on these problems for a decade. It has been a long, slow, and arduous process and future progress will not come over night.
