Until the next Framework!
AMD releasing a video talking about the laptop and saying that the Framework 16 AMD Advantage laptop will redefine the gaming laptop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9Ww_7wwNkM&t=7s
I mean it's good news for AMD. The only thing they sell is chips, so if you can upgrade for 1/4 the price of a new laptop and AMDs margins are the same, they make more money 🤷
Yes, I also posted it here https://mander.xyz/post/1224450 It is exciting to see what this collaboration will bring.
Jesus! I clicked pre-order the second I got the email, and I couldn't even get on the site. LOL
Wonder if one of my nice, rich friends will buy me one for Christmas? 🤔
Oh yeah, I don’t have any friends! 😳😞 would be fun to get back to being able to build/upgrade stuff though.
Buy a cheap one, upgrade over time gang 💪
The fact that this is possible is incredible.
Batch 4 done. This is going fast! It does seem like they are adding batches though, no? Were there not only 4 batches to begin with? Though it could also just be a display thing.
Very impressive! I would really like to know how many of these (and the framework 13) they are selling.
I'm a little bit salty. When I heard that the pre-orders were open, the current batch was still shipping in Q4. I was busy at the time, so I wasn't able to place the order. When I got around to it a few hours later, the batch was on 2024 Q1. I wasn't expecting them to sell out so quickly. I was too slow by a few hours and now I have to wait an extra quarter for the product to ship.
Yeah, I was lucky to get into batch 2...took me a few refresh attempts to even get the landing page to load. Now I'm in the fervently-search-for-a-working-TARDIS stage. (Yes, I know I'm impatient, don't care lol)
Take note you proprietary overlords! The market wants more user repairable parts!!
