Someone needs to invent a headphone cord that directly connects to the USB C port. Is that a thing?

It is a thing. You can get a usb-c to audio jack adapter.
Whenever my fiio runs out of power. About once a week.
I dont have a headphone jack but I have a dongle to use some sound isolating earbuds while I ride my motorcycle my last trip was about 6ish hours and I dont think there are many wireless earbuds that would last that long
The earbuds were like $20 and have an actual nrr my $90 airpods sound way more tinny in addition to not fitting as well and leaking sound
Lately I've been using my Bluetooth headphones more, because of the noise cancelling. However, I still use my phone's headphone jack about once a week.
On my iPad I almost never use Bluetooth headphones because I mostly only use it for note taking with the Apple Pencil so I take it where I go often and hate having it auto connect/disconnect to my Bluetooth headphones when I'm not even using my iPad. And because Apple the quick toggle to turn off Bluetooth only works until the next day. So I almost exclusively use the jack on my iPad and I'm mad they got away with removing it on the tablets and all the Android OEMs followed through (except Samsung).
I use bluetooth when I'm out and wired when I'm home
I probably would if I had one. I used it all the time on the last phone I had that did have it.
If I still had one I would use it every day. I now use Bluetooth bone conducting headphones so I can hear other things while I listen to The Majority Report while I work.
Everyday
The one time I missed it was when I was trying to sell a subwoofer which only has RCA inputs and I had to use my laptop top prove it worked to potential buyers. Other than that, I use Bluetooth exclusively.
Most of the time I use Bluetooth headphones, but when I'm in the mood to listen to some good quality music, I switch to wired headphones... Probably a few times per month and only at home.
I use it every day so for me is still a big must have. I also use it for 8 hours straight at work
I refused to get a phone without one for quite a long while and finally caved. I haven't used wired headphones in years but I hate that there isn't the option anymore as a default.
I bought a dongle for $7 and use it at work, maybe twice a week?
Me, at least once a week
My wife does daily to plug into our car. When she recently got a phone without a jack, I bought her a dongle for charging and audio.
Does she use wired audio daily? Yes. Does her phone have a headphone jack? Well, no.
Well I do almost daily
I had to buy an adapter. I much prefer wired earphones, as somebody else commented, it's much easier to switch wired ones between devices. With wireless you also have the issue of disconnecting them if you want audio through the phone speaker. I hate Bluetooth anyway.
I also prefer the earphones which sit just in the ear, rather than the current style of ones that need to be forced inside. I don't think you can get wireless earphones like that, probably because they would be lost easily. I like proper headphones too (so that's an option for wireless), but they are quite bulky so not always convenient.
A few years ago I would have said every day, but I got a really good pair of Bluetooth Bose headphones that have wireless charging so I don't have to worry about anything anymore. After work they get put on a charging pad then in the morning I grab them and they're ready to go.
Fwiw there are some pretty solid portable Bluetooth dacs so you don't have to have your phone port plugged all the time.
I have never once used the audio jack on a phone, Bluetooth is just much more convenient for me and has never caused me any issues.
I’ve never liked or wanted a wire connecting me to my phone. It’s irritating and is a hugely negative stim for me, akin to nails on a chalkboard.
I use wired headphones in bed, listening to podcast and whatnot. Easier to just yank out and throw away when falling asleep. I use lightning headphones right now..
