That's a great question, honestly. No idea.
They are a peculiar people (who are attempting to APPEAR less peculiar). Don't worry, they'll be mormon again in a few years.
I was born and raised in the Church (like most of us), and I never once heard someone say they were part of the "latter-day saint movement."
Though I actually kind of like it. It's a more open perspective that acknowledges the existence of other churches that also claim to be the legitimate continuation of the church Joseph Smith started.
Come to think of it, that sounds a lot like what the Church calls the great apostasy. I'm sure it doesn't count this time because... reasons.
Sounds to me like the creator is wanting a space for the off shoots to be involved? Inviting the Snufferites and the Apostolic Brethren seems like a bad approach...unless the idea is to expose mainstream Mormons to the breakaway?
Regardless, I agree, this is wierd.
