I played DE for the first time a year ago. I played it pretty “straight” because I wanted to learn as much about the world of Revachol and it’s history as possible (I avoided most spoilers but I had some vague notions there was some sort of communist revolution in the past). So on my skills, I loaded up on Psyche and Intellect with a focus on Encyclopedia and Visual Calculus. I didn’t do a lot of drugs or drink, either.

So for my second play through, I’m looking for a different experience. I’m thinking about loading up on Physique and Motorics - Physique in particular. I’ve heard Shivers and Half Light can be fun. I kept Interfacing, Hand Eye Coordination, etc pretty low so I might want to try it with higher levels there.

But I wanted to ask you all and get your thoughts and suggestions.

Also, I’m torn if I should try the Moralist vision quest or go back to the Communist one. I didn’t have quite enough Communism points to get the “best” ending (didn’t internalize The Suicide of Kras Mazov) so I kinda want another shot. But the moralist one does seem kinda interesting and apparently you learn more about the Pale.

Anyway would love to hear your ideas.

Ngl, the moralist quest felt somewhat underwhelming to me (intentional?), but the fascist one is very interesting in its critique of the self-destructive ideology and has some of the funniest dialogue in the game

Disco Elysium fascist spoilerMeasurehead talking to Harry about semen retention, anyone?

Don’t repeat the same run. You’ll inevitably forget stuff and it feels fresh if you buffer.

I’m like on my 5 th attempt at a fascist play through because I love Kim too much. I wish Harry could be gay and have Kim be like “I can fix you”.

Write this fan fiction, now

So in the communist quest

spoilerWhether or not you have the suicide of kras mazov is irrelevant to the quest (mmmmaybe it changes like a line of dialogue but j don't think it does anything) so basically if you built the tower and asked the Most Important Question About Communism then you did everything there is to do (there's one other branchjng path with joining the reading group, which you can either do by passing the interview or slapping Steban). So I would reccomend just shooting for the moralist quest.

I definitely could be wrong, but I thought:

spoilerIf you have at least 30 communism points (which can pretty much only be attained by saying all the commie dialogue options + internalizing Mazovian Socioeconomic and Suicide of Kras Mazov) the card tower actually stands up on its own for a few moments. If you have < 30 when you try and build the card tower it just straight up falls. Don’t know if I’m remembering that correctly, though.

spoilerAh yes you are correct about that. I don't know that you need suicide of kras masov to get to 30 communist points, it's just saying 30 communist things. I thiiink I did it without that thought?

spoilerYeah I should clarify that I don’t think you need that thought per se, just that I selected every commie dialogue option possible and still didn’t get to 30. Possible I didn’t engage in enough conversation though.

Yeah I think you can do it without getting the thought but I wouldn't be surprised if it gives you a communist point or two
