The study was commissioned by the group of astronauts assigned to ground control.

Eye deterioration as well. I wonder if it's the nature of gravity (for the former) or the nature of the radiation (for both).

Regardless, it also says the anti-oxidants help post-travel so it sounds like space trips will just include a medicine cocktail.

Treatment with specific antioxidants appeared to improve tissue function after exposure to galactic cosmic rays, suggesting male astronauts bound for Mars need not be too deflated.
