I cut them short. I also tried putting tape on my fingertips but it comes off within 5-10 minutes. Is there anything else I could try, maybe a different way of taping? Any advice would be appreciated ๐Ÿ™

This is deeply unsettling as someone who knows nothing from judo.

Even if you cut them super short, they still get caught on the collar when you're pulling it and whatnot?

You say you know nothing but you know about pulling the gi ๐Ÿค”

And it's not the entire nail, just a small portion

Podcasts! Hope you got some good tips.

Longshot: Have a doctor check if you have a deficiency that is causing your nails to be weak.

You have a point, but I've never broken a nail in judo. (I'll still ask at my next check-up.)

Maybe instead of just taping the tips, continue the wrap up more of the finger? Also try to find better quality tape. Hope that helps ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Your freaking nails are getting ripped off!?!? Damn you Judo guys are hardcore. O_O

No, just 1-2 sq mm gets pulled off. My nails are still attached to my fingers

Oh, alright. Gnarly, isn't it?

Yeah, not nice to look at.

Are you the only in your group to frequently detach your fingernails? Because I have never experienced or heard of something like that so far.

Idk if I'm the only one, I haven't discussed it with others IRL. It's not the whole nail coming off, just 1-2 sq mm

Still sounds unsettling. I hope you can find the reason for that.
