What are some mundane goals you can recommend to someone trying to improve their fitness? For example, after watching a video while sitting down on the floor with my knees bent, I realised I could stand up without using my hands or resting my leg on the floor. It's indicative of core strength, right? I often do push-ups. So what else are some day-to-day actions that should become easier when improving fitness and what exercises can you do achieve them?

Touching your toes.

Achieve it by stretching and just trying to touch your toes more often.

Second this. After you’ve achieved this, start working your way to getting your palms on the ground. Just keep stretching

Mundane goal to accompany this: get flexible enough that you can put your foot up anywhere and tie your shoe laces without bending over.

Recently, I traveled by air for the first time since I started strength training and handling my luggage felt so easy. I didn't have to ask for help putting my roller into the overhead bin :D

Also I can now carry all my groceries in one trip.

Increasing your step count. It's a pretty simple thing, but has been shown to reduce rates of all cause mortality.

I found that incorporating single leg exercises into my lifting routine greatly helped with some hiking that I did last week. It felt much easier.
