Hi. I'm just lurking here to spoil any conspiracies you folks cook up. My temporary foray into management showed me I'm just as unhappy to be in charge of idiots as to report to them. Not to imply they are all idiots, but the more folks you have above or below you, the greater the chance you'll spend 80% of your time focused on the idiot[s].

In my case, my team was filled with SMEs and I was the dumb one. And the idiots were the ones we all reported to. Leadership ended up selling a building twice, got into legal trouble with the fing IRS, and then threw us under the bus even though we were profitable. Lol. Fun stuff.

Actually the meeting rooms I'm in all day are much more well lit than my desk....
