I know this is a very long shot, but is there potentially any planned support for kbin through mlem?

I've just talked about this with @[email protected], but right now we are focusing on getting the app working well enough for the Lemmy API for the foreseeable future.

If kbin implements the Lemmy API, then we could very almost certainly support it

Understandable, thank you.

Quick question, is Mlem open source?

I think some dev of one of the two said they're trying to make their APIs basically identical, so I'd imagine maybe.

It would be really cool if the "threaded" platforms (my dumb moniker "threadiverse") could really come together on this and create a friendly ecosystem. Shared ideas, APIs, federation and mobile apps would be a real demonstration of what the fediverse "is about" compared to the mastodon dominance going on over on the microblogging/mastoverse

I really hope so. I don't like the look of Lemmy on the desktop, but love how Kbin looks. Unfortunately they don't seem to have a mobile app, and I'd much rather maintain one account on one instance with one set of subscriptions than maintaining one for Lemmy and one for Kbin.

I would love this. I prefer Kbin on the desktop, but it’s pretty rough to use on mobile. Mlem is AMAZING so far and if I could stick with one account (because I’m currently split between my Kbin account on desktop and lemmy on iOS) that would be even sweeter.
