Solid show! Like a couple others were saying, I agree that it's really great to have Dynamite and Collision having such distinct styles. It really helps keep you excited for both.

Really like the added condition to the eliminator match that if the champs win the losers can't challenge them again. Haven't heard that ever mentioned during an eliminator match before, it gives a legit motivation for the champs to compete in them.
Yeah, last night was the first time I'd heard the stipulation explained. I like it too; really raises the stakes for champ and challenger.
One day I'm going to remember that Collision is on at 5 and not 7 lol

FTR vs Bullet Club Gold might just be the best match on collision so far
Straight into my top 10 of the year so far. No right going as rock hard as it did.
Decent show, BCG vs FTR was incredible and moving Hobbs away from QTV is a good thing.
But I'm still none the wiser what on earth they are doing with Punk.
This whole "doing it for Owen" thing suggests he's being position as about as whitemeat baby face as you can possibly get, effectively making Starks the heel for the final. This was then built on more explicitly with Starks not coming down to save Punk after the match with FTR.
If Punk doesn't win, then whoever stops him is like, going against a beloved dead guy or something. Starks doesn't need that distracting from what should be one of his major achievements and elevation towards the top of the card as an extremely over face.
Conversely, Punk doesn't need to win the Owen. It doesn't raise the tournament, and it doesn't raise the guy who has already been world champ (and implies he still is with the title in the bag).
If this is all the build for a Punk turn - and like Chekov's Gun, wrestling tradition dictates that any fancy trophy must get destroyed - again he doesn't need to trash the trophy (after either winning or losing) to turn heel. Fuck, he's been heeling it up for weeks already (on commentary last week, and the "what's in the bag" stuff when he returned). Associating a tournament that is more of a real life, do a nice thing for the foundation of a nice guy who died tragically, than a wrestling storyline, and using it to turn someone feels really wrong. And not good wrong, the kind of "what the fuck are you playing at?" wrong.
Lastly, giving up Punk beating Joe in a non final, non PPV, match with minimal build feels like pure hot shotting.
I like the Bang Bang Gang an irrational amount, but Jay and Juice have amazing chemistry together.
I'm really loving the balance between the chaotic match styles on Dynamite and Collision having a much more old school style overall.

PPV-quality match. Jay White continues to be booked and presented like the GOTDAM star that he is.
I'd love to see him get a belt soon. Maybe be the one to beat OC.

I love Nigel on commentary. I've always felt AEW needs more heel commentators.
When he accused Dax of being scared to make the tag I was like what, did he misspeak? Then I remembered he's a heel lol. It's nice, it's a dynamic I've missed on commentary since Taz became too hilarious to heel it up.

Jay White is the freaking master of selling a 2 count, he made it look like the match was over damn near every time he was covered.
There could be a lot of chaos out of Punk vs Ricky if Punk wins.
With FTR and Bullet Club Gold happening, I wonder if they'd do a double turn since BC has always been cool heels anyway.
Could also have Punk win the cup and then have Starks and Punk meet down the line for a title

As far as Starks goes, I like how whoever he feuds with (Punk, BCG) he'll have someone who will challenge him on the mic. Ricky was great going toe-to-toe against MJF. I want to see how he does against other top-tier promoters.

Not to mention House of Black often have pretty legit great underground metal bands for their intro music. So I love their whole vibe.
