Rules
1. Be nice
Do not make personal attacks against each other, call for violence against anyone, or intentionally antagonize people in the comment sections.
2. Explain incorrect defense articles and takes
If you want to post a non-credible take, it must be from a "credible" source (news article, politician, or military leader) and must have a comment laying out exactly why it's non-credible. Random twitter and YouTube comments belong in the Low Hanging Fruit thread.
3. Content must be relevant
Posts must be about military hardware or international security/defense. This is not the page to fawn over Youtube personalities, simp over political leaders, or discuss other areas of international policy.
4. No racism / hatespeech
No slurs. No advocating for the killing of people or insulting them based on physical, religious, or ideological traits.
5. No politics
We don't care if you're Republican, Democrat, Socialist, Stalinist, Baathist, or some other hot mess. Leave it at the door. This applies to comments as well.
6. No seriousposting
We don't want your uncut war footage, fundraisers, credible news articles, or other such things. The world is already serious enough as it is.
7. No classified material
Classified information is off limits regardless of how "open source" and "easy to find" it is.
8. Source artwork
If you use somebody's art in your post or as your post, the OP must provide a direct link to the art's source in the comment section, or a good reason why this was not possible (such as the artist deleting their account). The source should be a place that the artist themselves uploaded the art. A booru is not a source. A watermark is not a source.
9. No low-effort posts
No egregiously low effort posts. These include Social media screenshots with a title punchline / no punchline, recent (after the start of the Ukraine War) reposts, simple reaction & template memes, and images with the punchline in the title. Put these in weekly Low effort thread instead.
10. Don't get us banned
No brigading or harassing other communities. Do not post memes with a "haha people that I hate died… haha" punchline or violating the sh.itjust.works rules (below). This includes content illegal in Canada.

You're not wrong, however you might be taking it more seriously than intended. It's somewhat satirical; like many meme communities, it embraces the absurdity as self-parody.
I hoped as such. I really had no context coming in. And I have faith people here are posting to bring awareness to war-mongering as opposed to glorifying IRL map-painting

Even though Ukraine isn't the most wealthy of countries, the last thing I want to see is precidant for invading other countries like what they did to Moldova or Georgia. There has to be a line somewhere. Ukraine truly wants to stop Russia right now and the US benefits from removing a strategic competitor, acquireing new tactics and knowledge. Believe me, there's a lot worse that the US and European governments can spend money on (and absolutely do)
I have a moral argument too, but that's for some other time. I get that it's hard to sympathize with a country half a world away though.
The Russians don't seem to think so, they think Ukraine has multiple deep water ports capable of launching military fleets, as well as a key land bridge to western Europe. It is also a massive source of wheat and other crops, although the Russians have done their best to fuck that up with mines, traps and unexploded ordnance. What about the above says backwater shithole to you? Personally, I would like to go back to the days of polite Russians and cheap wheat. I hope you can convince them that they're batshit crazy to invade their neighbors, because no one else has been able to do so in the last century or two.
“Polite russians and cheap wheat” Amen to that, I’m incredibly sick of those ruzzian nationalists on social media going on and on about how their country owns everything and everyone and about how my country America is the most depraved and evil place there is because 2 of our men who love each other can officially marry, live normal lives, and be themselves with a far lower risk of alienation from family and community here, and I’ve even had one so obsessed with me he subscribed to me on YouTube just so he can throw the usual predictable, childish tantrums over 2 colors in my profile picture there and spam the emoji “🇷🇺” and/or “something something ukronazisTM”, “Alaska was supposed to be a temporary lease!!” or “something something US imperialism something something DA GEYYYYYYYZ” in response to unrelated comments of mine that don’t even mention his precious war.
There are even some who celebrated the war crimes their regime’s fellow terrorists (tbc I mean Hamas, not the Palestinian people and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise) recently committed against civilians in Israel in the hopes that it killed those Russian Jews who “betrayed ze mazarland” by bolting for the country last year, knowing more than any other group that nothing good will or historically has come to their kind from life under another racist, expansionistic and extremely far-right dictator who outlaws pretty much everything.
