I'm not an admin and can't grant your request, but did you at-mention the mod directly to try to arrange a direct transfer? The admins will probably ask that question and request that you attempt a direct transfer prior to admin-intervention. If the mod fails to respond after some reasonable waiting period, your case for admin transfer will be stronger.

They did end up replying to the message, so I'm now a co-mod on the space

Sorry for the delay but first step should always be to reach out to the current owner/moderator. If there is no reply - meaning the current mod/owner is inactive - you could send an email to [email protected] to create a ticket or just post it here. Bit of patience every now and then though - busy times! :)
