My wife got me this for the upcoming holiday season. Waiting until December is going to be hard! A bunch of stuff in here that I’ve never tasted before, including a couple (hopefully; actual contents could vary depending on availability/supply) that have been at the top of my “must try” list: Kilchoman Loch Gorm and Ledaig 10.

Are you planning on opening a special bottle (or two, or three, or more…) for the upcoming holiday season? I’d love to hear what you have in mind!

To start with, my buddy and I have a holiday tradition of sharing the Whisky Exchange's holiday blend. I get the feeling we will find excuses for plenty of other bottles as well though - nothing beats a dram to warm you up on a cool fall night. Let us know how the advent calendar works out for you.

I'm hoping I can stay focused enough to do a brief review of my thoughts on each one. It won't be a full review, because I find that I can focus on trying to identify tasting notes, or I can focus on enjoying the dram, but not both at the same time. Given the sample sizes I'll be focusing on enjoying them :)

That holiday blend sounds delightful! I can't wait for my next trip to Europe; I feel like I completely wasted my first trip to the Whisky Exchange (except for the Laga Special Release 2021 the clerk recommended).

It's the time of the year that we allow ourselves to enjoy High West's A Midwinter Night's Dram. We heavily ration it.

A limited release of High West Rendezvous Rye finished in both Tawny and Ruby Port barrels.

They had me at "port barrels"!

They released a "white port" special edition last year called "The Encore" in addition to their annual standard release. It is amazing, so much stone fruit. Only way I was able to get it was by going to the distillery release date and camping out all morning.
