The main reason people have views opposed to this one is because the rich have created the narrative that if someone below you is getting more than they “deserve”, it’s because they’re taking it from you.

Well there is a certain kind of person that believes firmly it's okay to be spat on as long as there is someone below you to hurt in turn. It's a pretty large part of the population, in America at least
"If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."- LBJ
You're being kind here and giving them the benefit of the doubt...
Rich people who complain about minimum wage being too high need poor people to constantly be overworked, underpaid, and worried that they will lose their homes because otherwise they, the rich people, won't feel superior anymore and then they'll be sad.
That's literally all it is.
They genuinely think anyone who doesn't make as much money as them is supposed to be unhappy and they can't handle it if that's not the case
Isn't it more that if you're overworked, underpaid and worrying about losing everything you won't be asking silly questions like...why are rich people rich, where does their money come from and why am I working so hard for them to have a comfortable life
For some like the Koch brothers sure, the few who are smart enough to attempt systemic change for the worse are and to think that far ahead. The average rich cunt isn't that smart, in fact they are actually kinda fucking stupid. The other guy is totally right, lots of animals pretending to be human need to hurt others to fill the void where a soul would go.
Power lines are more valuable to me, as another person who works, than a fast food burger. My money will go towards an electric bill before I start paying $30 for two trash meals.
Doesn't matter, if the corporation can afford to pay its C-suite millions and rake in billions for it's shareholders, then it should be forced to pay it's workers a thriving wage. Solidarity to all workers, no worker in any industry should be making starvation wages, regardless of how menial or simple their labor.
Now if only you could convince the Police Unions of this. If they had this mentality then they wouldn't be helping the feds Union Bust.
Police aren't workers so police unions aren't unions.
Lets all get 100K each year, what could get wrong?
That line of reasoning just ends up being "we NEED poor people because otherwise there would be inflation and I'd have to spend more."
We don't NEED poor people to exist... We NEED full time jobs that pay a living wage.
Just take a look on any job site, forget burger flippers, ANY JOB that doesn't require a masters degree and like 15 years experience ALL offer disgusting wages that you NEED 2 people to live off of. 30-50k for everything under the sun... In NY that's a joke, in rural bumfuck Egypt it would work, but the jobs aren't there, they're where the people are.
People now live better than ever before. People in the west live better than everywhere else. Define "poor" cause the people you are descriving are not poor at all. There will always be somebody better off than you are. You have to compare yourself with who you were yesterday no to who others are today
Everybody look! This worker has fallen in love with his chains and begun to believe wealth inequality is a good thing!
