Here’s an idea… your picture should not be on your resume, and it shouldn’t be on LinkedIn either.
Futurology
But that would make it harder to filter out the brown people!
I don't even add a picture to my resume. Like sure, a nice picture is probably better than a quick selfie but no picture is the most logical choice, unless you're applying to work as a model or similar maybe.
Resumes should not have your picture anyway. That’s unprofessional.
I don't either, I just want to work there not become their idol and king
Maybe more colored people can speak up to this.
I had to include my photo in resumes.
As a brown dude, I would walk into a interview (or during the pandemic, a video call) and get looks. I got asked racially insensitive questions.
You can say, "That's illegal!" Or "That's a red flag!" Yeah no shit. I'm not trying to waste my time at some racist shithole. But welcome to America! You can pretend like it doesn't exist all you want. It doesn't change reality.
It was happening so frequently.
Once I included my photo, the questions stopped. If they didn't want to hire me simply because of the color of my skin, fine by me.
That only sounds reasonable because you have other options. It wasn't that long ago that all white businesses refused to hire you.
As a side note, I considered using an AI generated picture as my profile picture. I ultimately went with something else.
But if I were ever required by some place to upload a real picture, I’d go the AI image route if possible.
Anything that looks like standard AI output is going to be extremely unfashionable in a year

Hey, if there's a "make my resume statistically more likely to get interest from shallow, pompus boomers" button, I wanna know about it.
There's also the Asian woman who asked an AI to touch up her headshot. The AI proceeded to make her Caucasian.
Online plastic surgery lol
I think this is a good idea. If I was interviewing people, for a position in a tech or engineering, I would probably be prone to pick out resumes with pictures in them. I think there is something with association of text with an image. As long as the AI pick is good enough that I would recognize you in person at least.
Here's my own experience as a tech hiring manager. My interview process is sometimes up to 3 months long. By the time I'm ready to make my decision it's difficult to remember who is who. I take extensive notes, but it's still a challenge. So resumes with pictures definitely help. If you interviewed well it's going to put you at the front of the pack (oh right, this dude was a badass!). Conversely, if you interviewed poorly, but were still pushed forward, it could hurt you during the final decision (oh, not this fucking wanker).
