Yeah I feel you kind of have to because they changed everything from skills and equipment. Starting fresh is probably best in case there are bugs with your old saves.

I've done a netrunner build and an annihilation/berserk shotgun build. I'm planning on doing some sort of sandevistan build this time around, maybe knives or pistols.
Has much info about the new talent trees come out?

All I can find are 3 screenshot someone posted on twitter:
I kinda don't want to go through the early sections all over again but it feels like you gotta restart with all the changes to core gameplay. I really wish we had NG+ at the very least for skin and vehicle unlocks, maybe a few weapons if they get scaled down so they don't make the game trivially easy. I want Johnny's gun earlier in the game 😥
My first build was cyberdeck/stealth/pistol and it made the most sense, for the second one I tried sandevistan/techie and it felt weird. Maybe I go back and replay with a stealth oriented one since it was fun despite the janky hacking.
Hadn't thought about it. I thought it would be intended for you to play it with a high level character, but I guess it might make sense if a bunch of the game has been updated. I haven't played a brawler or a tech build yet.
Very likely. It’s going to be the last major update so mods won’t break anymore
Yes, since they want to change so much regarding the perks and the weapons. I also want to play a new build. My first character was a mantis blade build and my second character was a tech weapons build. This time around I want to play a monowire/netrunner build.
i think ill play on my current save file because my last playthrough was only a couple months ago
Since it's been so long since I've played it, I'm starting over!
Yes, maybe i will wait for a discount tho
Im trying to not touch the game until the expansion, that way I might forget some of the story details and sidequests a bit more and experience it agin when I do a new and fresh replay with the new overhaul of mechanics.
yes. i got to the point of no return and didnt enter the bar because i found put i havebtons of side quests. so ill wait and start over
I really want to play the game right now, start a new file, make a new build. But I should probably wait until phantom liberty comes out. I am so hyped I cannot wait.
I'm inclined to actually.
I’ve been waiting for the expension to actually finish the game, so yes.
Didn’t they say there would be a decent amount of time between when 2.0 was released and the release of the DLC? I was planning on starting a new game up once 2.0 gets released and seeing all the changes before the DLC comes out and I check that out.
Yes 100%
I’ll probably play a new save and my old save. I still haven’t finished the game from my first playthrough on launch lol
I have a fairly new save I abandoned when I heard how extensive the expansion would be, I'll probably just pick up that one since it's not too far i
Absolutely. Still got some build I want to try
I'd love to but since the release date falls in the middle of my semester I'll have to wait until winter break to start fresh :(
I'm currently on my 4th? 5th? playthrough of the game and going to use my current save file for PL once it drops so I can avoid spoilers.
Yeah, but only because I let Barry die :(
Normally I don't play games more than once, so I'm gonna play through it on my main save, and if it really is such a drastic change once I beat it I'll go through from the beginning with a new character.
