I usually do elliptical or cycle on these days since they're low impact, but I just prefer running. It's quicker.

Especially for legs I would always do cardio after hitting legs especially if squatting. Your legs could be more fatigued after running and can not lift as much as you think and get injured. Unless you are used to it.

This works the same the other way around. Your legs will be tired from squatting which hinders running performance. It’s a choice.

What kind of training schedule do you have?

If it's a couple of 5k runs a week just to keep you at a sort of regular fitness level I wouldn't worry about it too much. I'd run first and do weights after like you have.

If I was working towards a specific goal with increasing training load then I'd try to do weight training when I don't have any harder runs the next day or the day after that.

I usually just go with what Runnersworld etc. suggest to begin with and then adjust what I do based on how it feels.

I usually do about three 5ks a week. No specific goal besides just getting into better shape.

I think you'll be fine. Put whatever is more important to you first. If you're trying to improve your lifts then do that first. If you're chasing a running time then do that one first. Your other activity will suffer a bit though.

I run daily. Not a consistent gym goer but when I go, I run in the morning and lift in the afternoon or evening. I find it much worse to run with heavy legs.

Yeah...gym twice in a day is never going to happen lol.

Everyone has their own preferences of course but I run outside! I live in a town that's partly in a polder so apart from the usual cycle and pedestrian routes there's a levee running through and out of the town with beautiful views of the fields, there's a small forest, some parks, etc. Sometimes it feels like the boring same-old but it beats the monotony of the treadmill, even when it's cold or rainy. It's also fun to experience the environment as it transitions through the seasons of the year.
