Deleted my 11 year old account a few days ago. I am definitely missing the endless content, but I have replaced it with Lemmy and started reading books again in my Kindle app, so I'd consider it a win overall so far

Nine and half year of content gone, account deleted as well. I would say it is crucial to delete the content as well, since it is the content which they need to profit.

For those still deciding, this could help https://github.com/j0be/PowerDeleteSuite to make the process faster.

I've gotta go through my account and bookmarks and save as much useful stuff as I can, post some of it on here. But I'm going to delete soon.

I deletedy 4 accounts yesterday too. Some were 9+ years old.

1 personal used on a regular basis for nearly 7 years, and 3 that were service / product specific (but not actively used in a bit).

I wonder how a dwindling user base will look to investors.

I'm considering torpedoing my 14 year old account as well. It's a shame because I have so many memories wrapped up in it. I'm still holding off for now, but at the end of June I might pull the trigger.

I'm doing my 10 year old account on the 30th, So that hopefully they'll get a surge of user deletes the same day 3rd party apps shutdown.
