Image uploader turning images sideways (lemmy.world)

I am using Liftoff. Not sure if it's an app issue or what but when I select an image to upload from my phone gallery it's turned sideways when it's posted. Is there a way to reorient the image? Or am I better off just uploading to imgur and linking the post? I like how easy and quick the file uploaded is here though.

I had the same thing happen the other day, however it was straight from the lemmy.world website. I rotated my photos d reload it but no fix. I ended up cropping the photo, uploading, and it worked. I have little expertise on the matter so couldn't tell you why it is happening,just wanted to relay what worked for me.

It still happens to me as of today.

I've found the relevant GitHub issue, which says the fix is to compile lemmy with pict-rs v0.4.0-beta.7 or later versions.
